So I want to share a short story with you, something that I cleared recently and what I discovered FEAR was doing in my life, body, mind and emotions. Fear affects us all, it affects us even when we are used to feeling it,. It affects us in many ways we cannot see. In fact, these ‘invisible’ ways are the really powerful ones… because we act from the fear, not from our true selves.

I have known for a very long time that I have certain challenges in this life and that they were carefully designed and chosen, by me, to grow past my current barriers. Even though I knew this, and have traveled the world for 23 years studying healing, philosophy, hypnosis, business, personal development, I still had a paralyzing fear within me. Even though I have helped 1000’s worldwide with their own fears, I was not immune to my own. Even though I knew what and who they were around, I still had this powerful fear based ‘thing’ that was affecting all I do…

Sound familiar? Yes, often we even know what we are dealing with, and still have little success removing it. Well, a month or so ago, I traded healing with a local healer. I felt his presence and knew I had found someone who I resonated with and who could take me to a place I had not been able to go myself. (We all need outside help, let others help you, even if you are a healer yourself!).

As is often the case in healings, I had no set agenda and I placed my trust in the healer and the Universe. He soon tuned in and asked me “what are you afraid of letting out? What are you hiding?” I immediately sensed a surge in my energy and began to cry… there could be multiple answers to this question, but I knew exactly what they were referencing.  I answered “the real me”… from there we went through all kinds of energy shifts.

I already knew that I had hid the ‘real’ me long ago, when I was a tiny child. The ‘real’ me means fully trusting and accepting that I can express myself authentically and safely. I had ‘learned’ as a child that it was not ’safe’ to be me, I could not trust others to accept me as I was. Many different interactions had led me to decide that whenever I was fully present and exuberant, joyful, happy, ME, that others (mainly my parents) were not happy. I never knew why… but I was constantly being told things like “You are too happy… too loud…  too spontaneous…  too sensitive… pushy…  friendly…  selfish… too outgoing… trusting…” on and on. My parents would do what I call “remove their love”… if I did not fit in to what they thought was appropriate. How I chose to interpret this had a profound impact on me, including lack of self esteem and worth, fear of rejection, seeking approval outside myself and a general fear of people. Perhaps you can relate to this?

So what I did as a child (from age 3) was I put my real self in a cupboard, a dark cupboard within me, and I locked it. I kept my true self expression very suppressed, I tried to fit in and win approval, and I worked very hard at it most of my life. All I knew was I was I had created beliefs that told me I was not ‘right’ when I acted purely from within me, and I had to be careful because people would leave me if I acted like the real me. I was also very sensitive and was hurt easily by the perceived criticism. When I was treated with no understanding or respect and I would say something or be hurt, I was told “you are too sensitive”. If I was happy and really enjoying what I was doing I was told I was “too loud or ‘in my own fantasy world”. If I was asking a friend to come out to play and I was working on finding a solution so we could coordinate our schedules, I was told I was ‘too pushy or aggressive”. When I was excited to meet new people I was told I was “too trusting and friendly”. When I was beaming with joy and love and asking for hugs, I was told I was “too selfish and too happy”. (I still find it bizarre that so many people actually think you can be too happy!)

So, I chose to protect myself and fit in, quiet down, keep my exuberance in check (as much as I could… I spent most of first grade in the hall because I talked too much and I knew the Janitor so well I had my mom make him a birthday cake. He was kind, he would bring me a chair to sit on and sometimes even sit with me!) and try to learn what it was that was so offensive about being me. (Don’t get me wrong, I was not totally repressed and had a lot of fun in my life. Just never been fully me, all the way… think about it, have you?).

So in the healing, the healer, handed me a key, and said ‘unlock the door” (this is etheric, and energetic, not literal). To my astonishment, I saw a low slanted cupboard door with a small wooden handle. Like the kind that are under the stairs, not taller than a few feet. I opened it with the ‘key’ and  it was pitch dark within. I moved in further and saw a small child sitting curled up in the corner, it was me. I took the child’s hand and led her out into the light. The action sounds simple, but within me massive emotions were churning. I was me, now and I was me, the child who was scared to come out, be seen, because I had chosed to believe that being me was wrong, dangerous and people could not be trusted.

All I could do was hold this child tightly to me, pouring love into her. Whispering in her ear over and over “I Love you, you are perfect, you are wonderful, it;s safe now, you can come out, I apologize”". I knew I had repressed this side of me and made judgements about myself. I knew I had created beliefs that were self destructive based on the perception that I could not be myself and be loved. I knew there were areas of my life I was not fully experiencing because I was not fully expressed. I had been afraid of people and all kinds of other things and it only let me go so far in my relationships, my business, my creativity. The fear… of loss, of rejection, of approval, of not being good enough… fear was keeping my from moving forward and creating my life the way I wanted it.

The rest of the healing was profound and let me simply say, I have let myself out of the dark and into the light. I am allowing myself daily to ease into feeling safe and trusting that I can be myself, fully expressed and not have to fear losing love, support and approval. It is a process too, because I have had this habit of hiding my full energy expression for so long. Recently I was at a workshop and we were sharing ourselves in small groups. I found myself moving my body back when I got excited about what I do and my passions in life. One man commented on it. I said, “I know, I am just now getting used to sharing my full energy. I held it back for so many years, that I still have the habit of not wanting to overwhlem you”. He commented to let it all out, he was looking forward to it! What a wonderful confirmation.

So, what do I feel the most when I transform my fear? FREEDOM! Freedom to be me, be happy, and live fully! Want that too? Join me!

We cannot live fully, succeed and express fully, if we are afraid of what others think, afraid of losing something l(ike money, love or friends), or afraid of trustng others.

Here’s some more I blogged about fear already, if you haven’t read it yet.

What keeps us from renewing ourselves? FEAR! What keeps us from believing we can accomplish a new and exciting project or goal? FEAR! What keeps us form knowing we are Divine, supported and can succeed at anything? FEAR!

Fear needs to be assessed. As it comes up we need to  isolate it, and talk to it, before it reaches the point where it consumes us, brings up emotions and irrational reactions. Then we can pinpoint:

• Why am I feeling this Fear?
• Where is it coming from?
• Where do I feel it in my body?
• What triggered it?
• What do I prefer to feel?

Usually we discover that the Fear is based on past experiences or unconscious beliefs installed when you were  a child. It is not rational and often makes no sense either. Logic can help reduce some fears. Simple logic about how it is highly unlikely that the feared outcome or reaction will ever even happen. In fact some ridiculously high percentage of the time, our fears NEVER materialize!

Sometimes feeling the fear and boldly doing it anyway is incredibly powerful and beneficial. Only you know that. However, developing the courage and skill to do this is seriously transformative. Once you decide that you are going to commit to your success, to getting a better job, relationship or attract more clients… whatever you want to create or attract, you harness the power, knowledge and support to make it real for you! Your commitment and your internal passion that you are going to have, do or BE what you truly want, is all you need to clear the fear and move forward.

Fear and most all of our beliefs were formed when we were under 8 years old. If we think of how fear felt as a kid, it either

• Fear did not exist
• Fear did not stop us
• Fear overwhelmed us from lack of understanding

A child is in the moment, another way to way lay fear, and more focused on what they want, then on what could happen or might happen.  A child feels worthy and trusts that he can have what he wants. A child sees the end result they want, not the blocks in the way. What if we began to do the same? Fear would shrivel and we can then take our adult experience and keep ourselves safe while moving forward powerfully toward our goals!

Fear is going to be a part of life. I have yet to find anyone who does not experience some of it. So it comes down to how are you going to handle it. A new perspective gives you a whole new way of seeing, feeling and handling fear. That is freedom. That is a lease on life that can transform how you experience life! Ready? Let’s bust the fear, empower ourselves to feel confident, worthy and competent. Tune in to the reason you are here, your passion and your Divine nature, and fear fades!

Life is a choice….

I received this email today, I had to share it… if anyone knows who wrote this, let me now, I would love to give credit!

To those who mean so much
John is  the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always  has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was  doing, he would reply, ‘If I were any better, I would be twins!’

He  was a natural motivator.

If  an employee was having a bad day, John was there telling the employee how  to look on the positive side of the situation. Seeing  this style really made me curious, so one day I went up and asked him, ‘I  don’t get it!

You  can’t be a positive person all of the time How do you do it?’

He  replied, ‘Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or …. you can choose to be in  a
bad mood I  choose to be in a good mood.’

Each  time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or…I can choose  to learn from it. I choose to learn from it.

Every  time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or…. I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life.

‘Yeah,  right, it’s not that easy,’ I protested.

‘Yes,  it is,’ he said. ‘Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the  junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations.  You choose how people affect your mood. You  choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It’s your choice  how you live your life.’

I  reflected on what he said. Soon hereafter, I left the Tower Industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it. Several  years later, I heard that he was involved in a serious accident, falling  some 60 feet from a communications tower.
After  18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, he was released from the  hospital with rods placed in his back. I  saw him about six months after the accident. When  I asked him how he was, he replied, ‘If I were any better, I’d be twins..Wanna see my scars?’

I  declined to see his wounds, but I did ask him what had gone through his mind as the accident took place.

‘The  first thing that went through my mind was the well-being of my soon-to-be  born daughter,’ he replied. ‘Then, as I lay on the ground, I remembered  that I had two choices: I could choose to live or…I could choose to die.  I chose to live.’

‘Weren’t  you scared? Did you lose consciousness?’ I asked

He  continued, ‘..the paramedics were great. They  kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the  ER and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got  really scared. In their eyes, I read ‘he’s a dead man’. I knew I needed to  take action.’

‘What  did you do?’ I asked.

‘Well,  there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at me,’ said John.’She  asked if I was allergic to anything ‘Yes, I replied.’ The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, ‘Gravity”

Over  their laughter, I told them, ‘I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I  am alive, not dead.’

He  lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing  attitude…. I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live  fully.

Attitude,  after all, is everything ..

After  all today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

I copied this the other day, because I agree with it and wanted to encourage you to use this simple and powerful tool… meditation. I got busy wealth coaching and then forgot where I got it, so if you know, let me know, so I can give credit to whomever said this!

I have been teaching  meditation for 20 years. When I meditate daily my life is smooth, easy, happy. I rarely get stressed, and remain clear, calm and always see solutios and possibilites. Even if these were the only benefits of meditatin, wouldn’t it be worthwhile? In fact, ht beneifts listed above are still only the tip of the icebirg. So to get right to the point, so we can both get out to enjoy our becautiful day, here is a poweful solution to all your problems… go meditate!

The thing I have seen over the years is that most people cannot stop even for 5 minutes and sit still and clam their mind. Meditating is really about relaxing into your athentic self and BEing one. However, I have found that everyone can follow a guided meditation quite easily. So, I have created lots of audio meditations, guided visualizations and more to help you stay focused on what you want to create while relaxing. I find guiding your mind to be aware of your body, your heart etc,. or tuning in to your energy field, even guiding you through a visualization all make it easy to stay focused and begin to get the beneifts of meditation.

I usually recommend that people start with 5 minites a day, and see how you do. Sitting still trying not to think will drive you nuts. Even the old techniques of staring at a flame, focusing on your breath, all work, but only if you are able to sit and relax and not get distracted by your racing thoughts! Create a daily routine, or get the one I offer, and do it 1-2 times a day. Very soon, you will feel great and after only a few weeks it will be somehting that calls you. When you begn to notice that you feel happy and clam naturally, you will be sold! Give yourself a chance to succced and decide to do it for 30 days.
